This policy explains what Damson collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers both the Damson app and this website at damson.global. By using either, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Profile you provide: name, date of birth (to confirm 18+), gender, sexuality, photos, bio, preferences, kinks, and your ad.
- Messages and content you send through the app.
- Approximate location, to show you people nearby and place you on the map.
- Usage and device data: how you use the app, device type, and diagnostics.
- Purchases: handled by the App Store / Google Play. We receive that you subscribed — we never see your card details.
How we use it
- To run the core service: build your profile, show nearby people, and power matching and heat scores.
- For safety and moderation: to review reports and enforce our Terms.
- To send notifications you enable (messages, matches).
- To process subscriptions and comply with legal obligations.
Location
We use your location to show nearby members and your approximate spot on the map. You control precision in Settings — from an exact pin to a wide radius. We store an approximate location, not a continuous history.
How we share
We share data only as needed to run Damson:
- With service providers that host our data, deliver notifications, and measure website traffic (see This website), under confidentiality obligations.
- With other members — your profile, photos, and ad are visible to people in the app by design.
- When required by law, or to protect the safety of members or the public.
- We do not sell your personal information.
This website
The sections above describe the Damson app. This website — damson.global — collects less, and separately.
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people find useful. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google the pages you view, the site or search that referred you, your approximate location (city level, derived from your IP address), and your device and browser type. We do not use it for advertising or remarketing, we have not enabled Google Signals, and we do not sell this data. Google processes it under its own privacy policy.
Website analytics is not linked to your Damson account. Browsing this site does not tell us who you are, and nothing here is joined to your profile or activity in the app.
To opt out, you can block cookies in your browser, use Google's opt-out browser add-on, or browse in a private window. The site works fully with analytics blocked.
We are adding a consent control for visitors in the EU, UK, and other regions that require one before analytics cookies are set. Until it ships, if you would like us to delete website analytics data associated with your visit, email service@damson.global.
Your choices & rights
- Edit or remove profile details and photos anytime.
- Delete your account in Settings — this permanently removes your profile, ads, photos, matches, and messages.
- Control notifications and location precision in Settings and your device settings.
- Depending on where you live, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by emailing us.
Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your associated data, except where we must keep limited records for legal, safety, or fraud-prevention reasons. See Delete your data for specifics.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure. Please use a strong password and keep your login private.
Age
Damson is strictly for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we remove such accounts.
